On December 2, 2024, Chairman Wu Fuqiang and his delegation attended the graduation ceremony for the first cohort of trainees and the opening ceremony for the second cohort of the Youth Artisans & SKYRUN Technical Training Program, held in Calabar, Cross River State, by the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Youth Development. Attendees included representatives from the Cross River State government and related departments, customs and management committee officials from the Calabar Free Trade Zone, Deputy General Manager Guo Nannan, and executives from SKYRUN’s Nigerian subsidiaries.

The event was chaired by Mr. Ukam, Director of the Cross River State Ministry of Youth Development. Mr. Ukam introduced the SKYRUN Technical Training Program, congratulated the first cohort on their successful completion, and welcomed the incoming second cohort. He expressed gratitude to Huihong Foreign Economic & Technical Cooperation Co., Ltd. for providing technical and vocational training to local youth, offering employment opportunities to outstanding graduates, and contributing to the improvement of local livelihoods.

Chairman Wu Fuqiang presented graduation certificates to the 20 trainees of the first cohort. Deputy General Manager Guo Nannan delivered a motivational speech on behalf of the company, thanking the Cross River State government, relevant departments, and the Calabar Free Trade Zone for their strong support over the past two decades, which has helped SKYRUN become a household name as a “Made in Nigeria” national brand. SKYRUN’s home appliances now rank among Nigeria’s top three brands, creating nearly 1,000 jobs.

Guo noted that the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Youth Development’s “Youth Artisans” initiative aligns with SKYRUN’s “Make A Better Life” philosophy. As part of its corporate social responsibility, SKYRUN launched the technical training program, providing six months of training to 20 Cross River State youth and offering employment to outstanding graduates. While celebrating the first cohort’s graduation, the company simultaneously commenced training for a second cohort of 20 youth, empowering more young people with skills to create social value.

With the support of the Cross River State government, the Ministry of Youth Development, and the Calabar Free Trade Zone, SKYRUN will continue to advance youth skills training, promote local employment, actively give back to society, and contribute to people-to-people connectivity and friendship between China and Nigeria.
